REAL MADRID GONNA PLAY A PEACE CUP
The magnitude of the Peace Cup is heightened when taking into consideration the social responsibility aspect of the competition and the world-class heavyweights such as Sevilla, Juventus, Olympique Lyonnais, Celtic, Porto, Aston Villa and Fenerbahçe who will participate. The competition dates back to 2003 and takes place on a biennial basis. The 2009 edition will be held between 24 July and 2 August. Real Madrid will debut on 26 July against Liga Universitaria Quito.

MAIN TITLE
Twelve teams including Real Madrid will meet in Andalucia between 24 July and 2 August for the 2009 Peace Cup.
While the primary goal of the Peace Cup is to promote world peace, the attention of this year's edition will no doubt be centered on the twelve participating teams, who have over 1,130 years of combined history.
Teams that will compete against Real Madrid for the title are:
SEVILLA FC: One of Spanish Liga's most important teams. The Rojiblancos were considered the World's Best Team in 2006 and 2007 after winning two UEFA Cups and one Super Cup.
MALAGA CF: This year's breakout team in the Spanish league is on the verge of clinching a spot in next season's UEFA Cup.
CELTIC: The current Scottish Premier League champions are Champions League mainstays and actually the first British team to win the European Cup.
JUVENTUS: La Vecchia Signora is the most successful team in the history of Italian football. The club was the first Italian and South European side to win the UEFA Cup.
ASTON VILLA: One of the oldest and most successful clubs in England, Villa are seven time First Division champions and FA Cup winners and only one of four English clubs to win a European Cup.
OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS: Reigning Peace Cup champion Olympique Lyonnais is a force to be reckoned with having won the last seven Trophees des Champions.
PORTO: The most lauded and successful international team in Portugal, Porto have won the 23 Portuguese Ligas, two European Cups and one UEFA Cup.
FENERBAHÇE: With a record 17 Turkish Super League titles, Fenerbahce arrives with Luis Aragones and Dani Guiza, two of last year's Eurocup winners.
LIGA DEPORTIVA UNIVERSITARIA DE QUITO: The reigning Copa Libertadores champions, who are sure to put on a good showing, are the first team from Ecuador to be crowned as South American champions.
AL-ITTIHAD: Based in Jeddah, Ittihad is one of the best teams in Saudi Arabia. It will be the first Peace Cup appearance for a Middle Eastern team.
SEONGNAM: The most successful team in the K-League and its reigning champion, Seongnam will participate in the first Peace Cup held outside of Korea.
